This traditional recipe is naturally vegan and gluten free, making it a lovely meal for sharing with friends and family.. kadla sambar or black chana sambar is a comforting karnataka style vegcurry made from black chickpeas that is simmered in a delicious ground masala curry with a hint of an authentic Sambar Powder masala from Karnataka style. This is one of the recipe that every household in Karnataka love to prepare and is a very easy recipe. Black chana is the form of conventional chickpeas. these lentils are very nutritious and used in curries and chats. it can be used to make a great accompaniment for rice and chapati with or without vegitables.


 

Below is the step by step easy recipe of black chana sambar or kadle kaalu sambar



INGREDIENTS


• Tomato - 1 cup


• Onion - 1 cup


• Coriander leaves - 1 cup


• Coconut - 1 cup


• Oil - 3 tsp


• Mustard - 1 tsp


• Curry leaves - few


• Onion - ½ cup


• Potato - 3, chopped


• Black chickpeas - 1 Bowl


• Sambar powder - 3 tsp


• Salt - taste


• Water - 3 glass




METHOD


Soaking the black chickpeas in water for about overnight.


let's prepare masala paste grind it along with

tomatoes - 1 cup, onions - 1 cup, coriander - few,

coconut - 1 cup, into a smooth paste using a blender and keep it aside. Next is to roast the ingredients, for that place a pressure cooker on the heat add oil - 3 tsp, mustard - 1 tsp, curry leaves - few, onions - ½ chopped, temper the ingredients. Once done, add potato - 3 chopped, black chickpeas soaked -1 Bowl (overnight), add blended masala paste, sambar powder - 3 tsp, salt - for taste, water - 3 glass, season it well by adjusting the consistency of sambar. ( pressure cooker is about three whistle after release the pressure naturally.

Serve the Karnataka Style Kadle Kaalu Sambar Recipe or Black Chickpea Curry just relish it with some steamed rice.
